Rare and beautiful A.H. Fox XE grade 20 gauge. 26” Chromox bbl with Philadelphia address are fitted with two ivory bead sights on a narrow, matte rib. Small sized case hardened action features automatic safety, rebated frame, and dbl triggers. The action is engraved with typical “X” style with pairs of birds; ducks on the right and quails on the left surrounded by fields of oak leaf acanthus scroll. This scroll engraving extends 1-1/2” down the bbls. “Ansley H Fox” is above each bird scene and the bottom of the action portrays an oval vignette of a bushy tailed fox with mountains in the background. The trigger guard with acorns and oak leaves surrounding shield on bow engraved with “JCI” and has the SN on the tang. Well streaked and lightly figured dense European walnut Fox capped pistol grip buttstock with a leather faced Silver pad. LoP 14”, DaH 3-1/2”, & DaC 1-7/8”.
